My shelves are being populated with a lot of Dollies recently... And more to come!
Doll Engineer was the first Doll crafted almost entirely by another one, Doll Manufacturer, instructed by Eruei. This lead Engineer to be the first and probably only Doll that works by a wind-up mechanism instead of programming, since it relies more on clockwork mechanisms than circuitry. Homi, aka Doll Builder, was also built in most part by Manufacturer, thus both Dollies can be considered as sisters.
After the disappearance of Eruei, Meki was found by an employee of a galactic train, and after discovering its abilities it was brought to help in the maintenance of the engines. One day it met an alien boy who, for everyone's surprise, fell in love at first sight with the Doll, but soon he lost track of it. The alien would spend a lot of time traveling while searching for the Doll again until one day he met Aigara in a train platform, who accidentaly got separated from her sisters in her excitement for riding a galactic train. Aigara decided to help the boy after knowing his story, and during the travel they would finally find her, with the train crew revealing to the boy that Meki was just an automaton. Aigara defended that she was more than that, and encouraged the boy to declare his love. Obviously didn't work, as the Doll didn't want to leave her purpose... But for everyone's surprise, she gave the kid one of her own screws as a ring token and asked him to come back in the future. The boy vowed to become an employee there so they could be together, and the Doll accepted.
A quick build I come up with before leaving in August for vacation, it is based on the idea of using the well-known piston engine from Technic sets as a skirt, and later as a test for a newsboy cap design using that Hf paw part. I built that wrench to match Homi's hammer since they were quite similar, but unfortunately the design doesn't match quite well with thos hands to hold it properly =/ That aside I'm really happy with the overall design, specially the hat with the engine ribbon <3
